Reader Beware

Review from The Narrows →

My second and just as terrifying Ronald Malfi book. The first one, a short story collection ‘They Lurk’, still gives me shudders to think about. All I can say is Good God this guy is good. Sheer straight in the gut horror. There’s some queasy parts in here but that’s not what makes him so..

Great Book

Review from The Academy →

I loved the characters and the storyline. It’s funny that I used to work at a school and I could relate to some of the characters. Very intense and it kept me wanting to get to the next chapter to see what was gonna happen next.

Another action…and angst, filled story. This time John Lee is in search of a missing young woman, who has the reputation as a ‘badge bunny’. Is one of their own the reason the woman is missing? Meanwhile, Flag is trying to stir up trouble. Great small town cop story.

Drugs and money

Review from The Gecko in the Corner →

Lots of action in this story. John Lee’s estranged father shows up, running from a drug dealer. Can John Lee survive the wrath of a drug dealer searching for his money? Another fantastic story in this series.

Enjoyable story

Review from Stillborn Armadillos →

In a small southern town, bones are discovered during a highway expansion. Can deputy John Lee Quarrels get to the truth behind the murders many decades ago? Told from several POVs, the story has mystery, murder and small town drama. Well written and enjoyable. Glad I discovered this author.

Most boring non historical book I have ever listened too. I was a QM in the navy so,I have experienced some of this and I fell asleep multiple times during this book. First 2 books were ok, but, this one oh my god unnecessary and could have been told in a flashback type sequence and in..
