Just overall a really great addition. I love that feeling of intrigue that surrounds Freddy, just not knowing what he is planning or why. This book feels a lot more straightforward than the last, less political navigation and more self discovery and growth for Elise. I just want more!

I was a little on the fence about how good this was going to be, but the characters are all really well fleshed out. No cardboard cutouts running around and the setting is really chewy.

No bones about it, this is another excellent addition to the series. Although the main plot is but a bit of background noise, where this story excels is the introduction of new characters and the interplay between them. Expect more puns, and a few not even mentioned that really take the cake.

Overall 4 stars since nothing really happened in this book. I mean lots of things happened but no real progression for the MC was made that couldn’t have happened in the 1st chapter… That is to say the MC actually finally tested their abilities and thought about them for 5 min and so made progress…
