This was a fun story and for the most part I enjoyed the narration. I love Soundbooth Theater and always search for books they narrate. There are reviews complaining about the voice of the hammer and while I wish the voice had been different, it didn’t interfere with my overall enjoyment of the book.

I wanted to like it. I made myself listen to the end coz I paid for it, but there is just too much filler, unnecessary introspection, repetitive thoughts, dialogue. I don’t know, it was too much and not enough at the same time.

The mains are middling at best, the gimmick hammer is so absurd and disappointing that I refuse to listen to any more, doesn’t even have good writing to compensate.

I am not going to say I understand the card system magic as I am not a gamer, and this genre is still new to me ,but wow this is still great entertainment! A little dark, a lot of action, and witty humor. Excellent voice performances and sound effects. Soundbooth production is consistently fantastic.
