I like how this story takes a unique perspective on what it’s like to be an undead. or what a curious mind is willing to do in order to accomplish their goal of understanding the universe. It’s been a while since I finished a part 1 of a series that I picked up on a whim and immediately went to buy book 2. Too bad it’s not out yet. Don’t think I’ve been this invested in a will they/won’t they romance since Ross & Rachel.

To put this into context, I’ve listened to probably hundreds of books on this platform, this is the first one I’ve ever written a review on because I want everyone to know about it. It’s that good. Read it.
The series has such an interesting concept and I can’t wait to see where it goes. Such an amazing first book to start us off with and as usual the narration and production were the best there is. Really looking forward to what’s next.
it was really stupid how nobody realized he was the bad guy. the main female character was really annoying for me I just couldn’t stand her sorry. and it’s great that he’s in guns but sometimes he should have like a nightstick or something with them or a knife it would have been helpful in..
I met JOB at C2E2 in Chicago. After a lovely conversation, I purchased his book on Audible. I’m glad I did. I can’t wait to read book 4. I like the plot. I like the banter. Glad I met you, and got to listen to your book.
Written well, narrated well, cool magic system, modern day setting that feels pretty fluid. I would recommend this to people who like Dungeon Crawler Carl.
