The book covers the story of Dean Corrll, a prolific serial killer that committed his crimes in Houston in the early 70s. Jack Olsen is simply one of the best true crime writers. Unlike some books in this genre, The Borrowed World has events that we can all wrap our minds around. Although I participate in much hiking, I could clearly place myself im the shoes of the main character and his family. I like that he doesn’t have a million dollar horse and all the cool gear,..
I like Goodwins stuff but this was way too churchy. people haveing moral dilemmas about stealing something unused right after they murder someone is just a silly ethical dilemma. way too much what does Jesus think and far too little how will we survive this. kinda a let down

I wasn’t sure I would like this book but from the very beginning it grabbed my interested and was a great listen. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.
