If you like post apocalyptic reads, this series really is the best. I would reread this series, and I never reread books.
Love this series!

I loved Jim. My husband was a Jim and we would always find are favorite characters were named Jim. I’ve spent a lot time with Jim and his partners. I definitely need to be in their circle.
I like the narrators voice. He can assume several different tones both male and female sounding. Easy to listen too.
If you ain’t Appalachian with a gun, you deserve to die. If you don’t believe in the Christian god, you deserve to die. If you’re wounded, you deserve to die. If you’re a bad guy in general, you deserve to be tortured before you die. There’s never a guy behind you with a gun. But..
The ending of this book was better than the end of all post-apocalyptic / dystopian series endings I’ve listened to (dozens), and this is just book 1! Kevin Pierce reading it made it even better. ❤️
loved the characters, and my favorite is Dan & Holly’s verbal wars..lolreminds me of my husband’s & my relationship
Like most of these types of books it would set up an exciting scene then refer back to previous parts of the book(s) and go on for too long repeating material you’ve heard before. This does it too much.
This guy shouldn’t be writing a memo on a post-it note little less a series of books. His “story” is nothing more than a constant stream of over explained recommendations of how to justify dropping one’s moral compass in order to “survive”, a concept that I think most people understand and accept, but this guy..
The Story is really good and based on something that could happen. the progression of the story if in a good pace it doesn’t get stuck on all the little details but you get the idea cleanly.
