Wow, quite a spectacular commentary on Dante’s Inferno! Anthony Esolen is not only an excellent scholar but also an excellent presenter. I am looking forward to his commentary on Purgatorio and Paradiso.

Every Traditional Catholic must read or listen to this book. I was a little put off by the narrator’s tone and was going to give it only 3 stars, but his reading of the Sermon on the Mount nearly brought me to tears it was so well performed. This is a fantastic work.
Wonderful audible! Become a saint by confirming your will to God in all things. St. Alphonsus, Doctor of Prayer, pray for us.
It was a very comprehensive book on the dogma of purgatory and suffering souls. It was well read and I enjoyed it overall.
Amazing wisdom in such a short work. It would take an entire lifetime to implement the advice contained in this Saint’s writing.

Buy this book. Never assume your departed loved ones are in heaven. Pray for them. I wish the church would emphasize this more. God is loving but just. Some very chilling examples of poor souls who have appealed for prayers and offerings.

This has got to be one of the best audible books ever. My devotion to the Holy Souls in Purgatory is even stronger than ever. Kevin Gallagher does an amazing job reading this with passion and great feeling. Please get this one. You will be so glad you did.
I understand it is a story version however the Author also interprets the bible and inserts his opinion into scriptures. I had to make the correction and explain to my son some of the errors as we don’t need to add anything to God’s Word. I would not be allowed to listen to it anymore.
