An interesting story made boring by the tedious prose. All the life that should have been there was replaced with numb intrigue.

This is a great collection of stories from the grunts eye view of WWII. It encompasses almost all theaters of the war and from the four branches of the service. It is also the story of the author’s dealing with his own service as well as discovery of family history. It is an excellent read..
