it was a struggle to finish reading. I had to rely on the audio to plow through to the end; however, it was annoying that the narrator mispronounced many words particularly place names. To me, it was also annoying that the protagonist crossed path with every notable Californian of this era.

I must say I liked this book right from start but then, ugh. Then it got even more ridiculous and I couldn’t wait for it to end. Boring narration. Ridiculous twist. Could have been really creepy but it was just silly.

A surprisingly decent combination of a submarine movie and a spreading vampire infection. Some of the character actions are a little cliched, but that’s genre fiction for you.
