For those that have read previous books: if I made a top 10 of the most messed up things that have happened in DCC, at least 7 would be from this book alone. It’s incredible.

So many references and quips, listened to the whole book in just a few days; felt like watching an immersive TV series. I was hooked after the first couple hours. I thought the set up of the plot was bound to annoy or disappoint me but it was delivered so well. Highly recommend!
Invidia is (either the Latin or the Greek word, it escapes me at the moment) for greed. Here is the spoiler part: Anthony gets a final pet a GREED demon, and names it invidia, this is just a nice little attention to detail I wanted to share. “Bye”.
Narrator Jeff Hays is simply amazing. The story isn’t exactly Shakespeare but that’s what makes it so fun and easy to enjoy. The characters are fairly one dimensional but again, nobody should be surprised.
Full of excitement, adventure, rich character arcs, humor, and creativity. Need a live action series which will be a generational epic if done well.
4.5 stars! This was such a fun story! Not as cozy and low stakes as I anticipated, but still really enjoyable. Eld is a necromancer, but his specialty is reviving animals, specifically pets. He would rather be on the surface helping others, but his very demanding undead father has other academic plans for him. Elm..

Nothing. Only wish the other books were out already. Maybe would be better if they had the whole cast of Soundbooth theater.
