This may be my favorite book series of all time. When you couple that with an incredible audio book experience it takes it to a whole new level. So excited for book 7!!!
Only a few hours in and it’s great. Soundbooth theater is always top notch. Tons of my favorite authors and narrators have recommended it.
The female cast not voiced by Jeff and the random trash sounds in the background detract from what would be a decent story. I powered through but I won’t be listening for subsequent titles.
If you liked Dungeon Crawler Carl you’ll likely enjoy this too. Fun pop culture references, isekai hijinks, its got it all. Looking forward to the next book already!
For me, LitRPG can be hit or miss, but Bruno and Castle knock this one out of the park! Not only is the story interesting and fun, but it’s hilarious and the narration is great. I wish more books were like this one.
It’s been happening more and more in books of this genre. You give someone a tragic backstory, every attempt at growth you destroy, and all you get is a whiney ass mc who is completely useless? This story would have been better from any other pov. Literally any other. Instead you use a useless character..
the set up chapters are fine, but the story didn’t really go anywhere. it feels like a filter arc on a TV show while they wait for the writers to figure out what’s going to be the next really storyline. I think this will be my last venture into the ant-verse.
A fun and exciting take on progression fantasy, and I loved the music references by the MC. Very Ready Player One, like it’s a love letter to pop culture without getting goofy. Immersive audio feels natural and really enhances the fantastic performances from the voice actors. Can’t wait for more from this series!
