I loved every second of every DCC audiobook, and I am really loving this story but I dont like the bad west Texas accent he’s doing. I was hoping id get used to it but im just not. Other than that I love the story
An amazing combination of great story telling and a spectacular performance. I’ve listened to the available series multiple times.
I loved the content of this book and the continuing story it tell. But the sound effects are making it hard for me to focus on all the words being narrated. I keep missing details because the SFX are almost louder than the narrator.
Fun story, lots of future sci-fi tech that plays off of today’s realities. Comes across as a hard-to-step-away-from standalone story, with the main characters well fleshed out with passable side characters developed enough to care about them. For those who want to avoid strong language (f-bombs, GD’s etc.), this one, like most of Dinniman’s work..
I’ve had this series recommended to me multiple times by people who say it’s hilarious. The Audible summary says it’s got “perfectly balanced humor”. Apparently that means one-to-one humor and horror. Some of the monsters in the dungeon are normal people who the aliens shoved into enemy roles. Carl has to fight and kill them…
I was hesitant at first, it was not what I expected, but god. I loved it. I loved everything about it. I cant go into detail or I will spoil but got dammit I loved it.
Trying to read it is never the same now that I’ve heard Jeff Hayes’ voices for Carl, Doughnut, and crew!!
