I started the book thinking the story would be off-the-rails sci-fi like DCC. This was a pleasant surprise with a much deeper, thought-provoking story. Give it a try.
There is no weight to anything in the story because people can die and respawn with really no setback. This colors every interaction and removes any suspense. For the latest installment of Life Reset, Soundbooth Theater has begun using their own sound effects far more than previous books in the series. This increases the immersion alongside a score of music being used for atmospherics throughout the narration.
I didn’t have high hopes for this, but I did try to like it. his writing style is just uninteresting – everything is over explained and he can never end a bit before it becomes tedious (we get it, they’re not allowed to swear)
