At this point I have invested a lot of time and energy into this series and I am genuinely pissed at how horrible this book was. I don’t even know where to begin. Throughout the series the characters have been steadily grinding and progressing which is obviously what defines the genre. Everything is building up..
Again the production is top notch! The sound effects are not over the top and the voices are amazing! Great story telling and I love the inner monolog of Carl. A great litrpg! highly recommend

Jeff and Matt are the ultimate duo. Just did my fourth listen of this book, and I enjoyed as much if not more than the first three times. The action and humor, the amazing narration, and the intricate story make this one of my all time favorites.
This book, as well as the entire series itself,has great character development . The individual character growth each member of Donut’s team experiencea seems real, not forced. The friendship/admiration/respect and love between Carl and Donut is evident through their actions and decisions makes the reader forget that Donut is a cat who is emotionally on..

I liked the book and the build-up / plot was done well. I think the reason people would have rated this 4 stars was because the game / deck logic was hard to understand and complex. I get that there was randomness in the cards he could pull, but the number for cards in play..

Much like with azrinth healer this book didn’t live up to the pre-audio hype, maybe it’s the grasping at straws nature of female protagonist non-romance or angst books, but there are certainly much better out there, this one’s just kinda bland.
