Just an okay plot with some pretty weak characters. Unable to match the magic of his dungeon crawler series however, story finishes with a strong final act.
Not his best effort.

I really enjoyed the duality of nature. You are innocent until someone takes what you love. Then what do you become? what can you become?
Like each piece of the series so far, this is none stop fun. The voice acting is second to none and the story is exciting, funny, and sincere. It ranges the entire gambit of emotions. If you are looking for a good time DCC is ready to provide.
As a story this is excellent and enjoyable. It is Matt’s writing style, irreverent and clever, with great action sequences and dialogs. But it also felt as a great reflection and commentary of what our current internet/gaming culture has become. I felt it can very well stand next to other great contemporary books like ready..
Love The Dungeon Crawler Carl Series. Can’t stop listening. Be prepared to have it captivate you. Like all the books, the last few hours will not allow you to pause.

Great book! Funny, great characters, awesome premise. Classic in the making. Can’t wait to listen to the rest.
Which is honestly rare in any genre. Book 1 was interesting enough, but every following book has just gotten better. Interesting characters are introduced, and more development and depth are added to returning casts. The world-building is solid, and there is a healthy amount of wit, humor, and action that’s wrap around intrigue.
As always, the story, the characters, and the crawl continue to get better and better. The Soundbooth Theater narration team continue to knock it out of the park as always. This is easily my favorite LITRPG series. But also a great series regardless of genre.
