This continues to be my favorite audiobook series of all time. I cannot recommend this book enough . Five stars.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (7 STARS. NEW ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: YOU ARE NOT OKAY) The Gate of the Feral Gods by Matt Dinniman has no business getting BETTER. And yet. Here we are. This series started as:“Oh haha this is fun dungeon chaos with a talking cat.” Book 4 said:No.We are doing structured revolution now. Nothing. NOTHING. Feels accidental..
This is my first thought out review because this book is absolutely worth the time to write it. Operation Bounce House got me. I picked it up expecting ridiculous fun and over the top chaos, and it absolutely delivers that, but somewhere along the way it stopped being just entertainment and started feeling a little..
What’s to say, the writing, characterization and plot are fantastic the VA does a great job and gives real life to the characters. If you enjoy Matt Dinniman’s works you will get a kick out of this as well.
Matt Dinniman is really good at making me feel multiple complex emotions at the same time. Operation Bounce House didn’t pull me in as much as DCC, but it is a really strong and well written book on its own. Even after finishing it, I can’t stop thinking about it.
if you were expecting Dungeon Crawler Carl…you’re going to be disappointed. OK narration. OK plot and story. No real characters to like let alone love. Oh well. Stick with Carl and Donut. That’s where you shine Matt.
Soundbooth Theater… hats off! You rock! The small sounds in the background, a suggestion of activities behind the speech… and the voices… Holy Cow!!! The whole series… I enjoyed the whole series of Dungeon Crawler Carl. Truly enjoyed it, not just listened. Matt Dinniman, you have created a legacy series. Listening to this story reminds..
This book was incredible. My girlfriend recommended it to me and I was a bit standoffish at first, but was hooked after the first chapter. 20/10 would recommend to anyone!
Loved the book start to finish. Matt does a great job at a slow build, gets you to really love the characters and then boy o boy once it hits the middle of the book, “shit hits the fan!”
