Definitely the best one so far. Not very predictable tons of fun dialogue. A great time
So much fun
Review from The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook →
The series as a whole is fleshed out well developed. You cannot predict what happens. The writer really went out on a limb with world design and nailed it. Great voice actors. Just the right amount of donut too.
This has to be the best audiobook series I’ve ever listened to. I would fall on the sword for these characters.
Review from Chrysalis 6: Antvance into the Unknown →
I love the humor, and there’s a kind of defined end to the story (bottom of dungeon/become one of the ancients even if there is no definitely measure of how many levels this is. so kinda a mix between the elusive “endgame” in Primal Hunter/Defiance of the Fall and DCC which have a very obvious..
It’s killing me that the narrator makes the soul weapon sound like Cookie Monster. It’s a terrible choice and should not have been approved. It’s a poor choice and detracts massively from the quality of the book.
You think the other books had a killer ending? This one takes the cake. This book goes from normal Matt level items to the most emotional book in the series. It’s all of the feels.
Heartfelt, original Sci Fi series with a strong conclusion — hard to think of anything more that you can ask for.
This book just gets better and better. I cannot wait for the next book. Every time Carl and Donut make it through one situation, another pops up.
NEW ACHIEVEMENT! You’ve just finished book 2 in the DCC universe, look at you go! REWARD? You get to start book 3! More dungeon, more Carl, more Donut, more world building, more adventure. I kept saying “I’ll just listen to one more chapter…” and before I knew it, book was finished. Can’t wait to start..
