This book is freaking amazing. Still have to deal with the crappy echo sound effect but the story…. OMG it’s great. I’m the type of person that always knows which way a book or movie is going to go and the BAM this book slaps you with a holy shit did that just happen! Buy..
Loved every aspect of this book. Had me laughing out loud multiple times nailed the content of a litrpg very well. narrator did a fantastic job and had me riveted on every one. 10/10 would recommend.
I really enjoyed the first book. The insane world building, the loopy characters Carl and Doughnut, the great reading by Jeff Hays, all of this was great. This sequel has no plot other than Carl and Doughnut running from one quest to another. They don’t grow as characters. Jeff Hays is still doing a great..
I don’t want to give spoilers so I will just say one thing. I’m really tired of good stories playing out with dumb MC’s or dudes with serious anger management issues. Story is good, but would be better for me if the MC was able to think 2 or 3 moves ahead.
Carl and Donut are at it again. They wrangle Katia into all kinds of hijinks, but Katia is gaining both confidence and competence. She even manages to do some solo work for a while, finding great success. Carl’s antics cause several legal disputes for Borent. Carl being Carl, he manages to piss off pretty much..
I got to the point where I actively skipped through fight scenes because the sound effects and music ruined them completely. This is a trend I have seen with soundbooth lately and I will likely avoid soundbooth books going forward. I loved the story itself, to the point where I will probably by written copies..
this was a good story but it appears to have been influenced by the divine dungeon series quite a bit.
