The story keeps being interrupted to tell you about some power up score that does not add to the plot.
Like a video game being read to you

The writer spends far too much time on the character sheet. ita like 5 words then we are back on the spec sheet. I’m a nerd and it was too much for even me.

Awesome performances by Jeff Hays and the rest of the team at Soundbooth Theater. And magnificent content to drive it along!! I can’t wait for the next entry
Has promise yet MCs seem to do the dumbest things when it matters most. They also have odd moral dilemmas in a world where they were raised not to have any. it’s almost as if the MCs want to die or hit rock bottom before something magical pulls them back from the brink. it’s sloppy..
I’m a huge fan of this series, but as it’s gone on, Boxy has been getting smarter and smarter. Even though he’s still a bumbling idiot half the time, I feel he’s lost a bit of his initial charm as a nearly mindless moron
Hays did a pretty good job narrating this. I loved the voices and sound effects he made when the MC ate someone. That’s pretty much the only good thing about this book though. I lasted 7 chapters/ 1.5 hours, and in that time we got no plot, no world building, and the main character is..
as an old guy that is also a first person shooter gamer, I can identify with all the gaming references in this book. I loved the half life references. I liked his writing style also. I hate it when an author shows that the hero is about to be betrayed or something else bad is..
It seemed like the author had planned on another book or two but then had to rush the ending in book five. The book still concluded all of the story lines well so I reccomend finishing the series, just wish it wouldn’t have felt like we got dumped for something new after book four.
