the story was fairly entertaining, but the intermittent pointless misogyny held it back in a few places. I’m not against crude and sexual content, nor lecherous characters… but the sprinkling of misogyny in the first half of the book didn’t seem to enrich the story or fill out any characters.The book description does warn about..
Overall giving 5 stars. Certainly confusing and plenty weird. Doughnut and Carl continue to make a great team.
i never struggle when listening to this series of books!! now I will wait for the next book. Our entire family loves this book series and enjoy this story line!

…this one felt a little short, and rushed. did I still love hearing about the adventures of my favorite mimic? absolutely! I just feel like this was the first half of the next book, not the whole next book. The performance crew was top notch with the narration.
Love the different character voice actors. Just gives more depth to story. Will get next one.

I have loved all of Neven Olive’s books so far, and Mortimer is no exception. I’m really looking forward to his next installment.
