The book reads like a cheap show on the CW like Revolution, but from the time the Movie and show V was from, with obvious betrayal, weak plot and setting, stupid choices, and enough obvious foreshadowing you feel like you’re being beat with a two by four-shadowing. It’s not bad, but faaar from good.
last few chapters seemed like a rush to wrap up the story. Felt like there should’ve been at least one more book fully flesh out the end.

Carl and Donut continue to capture most of the audacious and bodacious dungeon crawl quests again in this series. However, there are also exciting, strange and entertaining quests from other characters, some from past acquaintances and others from newly introduced characters. still very enjoyable with many laugh out loud moments, but I can say without a doubt I enjoyed the others in the series more. which in no way am I saying the book was bad and I will be jumping off Mortimer the second it comes out.
Beginning of this one was narrated differently as the character for which it was based was different. IMO story is story so narration shouldn’t change… it only lasted until the prologue though, after that no issues. The rest was masterfully written and performed.
fantastic story characters and ideas. love this book to the very end. didn’t care how many eathers and elixirs that were taken they were all needed to keep the players going. awesome job.
this one was great. cant wait until the next one is on audible. hopefully it will be soon!

I’ve probably gone through about 60 or 70 books in similar genres and I would say this one is fairly high up there. occasional instances where it gets slow 4 about 10 to 20 minutes but then speeds back up decently. I’m going to go ahead and listen to the next one because it’s tough..
