This book was so unassuming… but it was so entertaining i couldn’t stop listening. The narrator is incredible I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series

The Butcher’s Masquerade is book 5 in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. Yet another solid book that does not disappoint. This book covers level 6 of the dungeon. This one ended on a cliffhanger than has me nervous. The narration was incredible, as usual.

Of all of the books in this series, this is my least favorite, but it still made me cry a bunch. I respect the way the author can take an absurd situation with ridiculous monsters and hilarious scenarios and still make inspiring political statements while cultivating a familial bond between the readers and the characters.

Every book in this series makes me think that the author has reached peak absurdity, and every subsequent book proves me wrong. So why am I crying? That was rude.

Idk how he can make so many aspects of this series so silly and still have me feeling invested in the outcome, but I am obsessed.

Our obsession with these books is impacting the quality time my partner and I used to spend together. We both keep agreeing to listen to the book instead of watching a movie or, like, conversing or you know, the other things we used to do together.
