I liked the first one better, but I still loved this one enough to buy the next one, which I also loved.
My non-reading family is obsessed with this series. I have a partner and 3 sons who are all devouring these books even though, as a rule, they don’t like reading or even listening to audiobooks.
First, I think Matt Dinniman has done a phenomenal job with world building, character development, and balancing action with build up and calm down. The second book is just as entertaining as the first! The narrator goes above and beyond reading the story and his voices for the characters brings an extra layer of character building (and humor) to the story!
the narrator does amazing voices and really brought the story to life! the story itself was ridiculous good fun with enough drama, intrigue, and clever world building that I will immediately be listening to book 2. 10 “God Damn It Donut”s out of 10.
Wow! I loved it, the story was a blast and the narrator crushed it. I am very excited about the next book.
writing style feels like 13-year-old weeb boy. story the flow is faster strictly necessary. it doesn’t really do a lot of building instead it pretends at building. it’s kind of over the top anime feeling but lacking the substance of good storytelling. its just sort of flat and weird.
