The voice acting and story are top notch! This one just goes and goes hard. Easily my favorite book of the series so far.
This book is all gas!

Let me start with the character Henry. they created an individual who has trauma based on being a medic during wartime. Who was also an EMT and saw even more crap. then they added the fact that he was seriously betrayed by his ex-wife. Potentially an excellent character. an individual that has so much trauma..
Somehow even more entertaining than the first book, 100% worth a listen. This book has everything from the first cranked up to 10 with a bit more focus on the corporations and the politicking that goes on around the show.
This narrator has been phenomenal all series—but in this one he keeps mispronouncing the names of the Orisha and it is very distracting.
Matt Dinniman is sure to include every nod to gaming (be it TTRPGs or videogames) showing he’s one of us, but the story lacked development of real intrigue until the last couple of chapters. Jeff Hays, doing his best Patrick Warburton, makes the lackluster story an absolute slog.
Everything was exploding and crazy!!!! I laughed, I cried, and Samantha….who knew??? Alpha Carl and Agatha!!!! Oh… the hype is deserved!
The writing is god awful. I listened to over 100 chapters, but Jeff Hays and Annie Ellicott can’t save this. There’s 1600+ chapters in this series on Royal Road. The writing does not improve.
You will laugh, you will cry. It’s great, I put this series off for too long. Glad I’m catching up now
I didn’t want this book to end. I was so invested in the second half of the book that I found myself limiting how long I would listen because I didn’t want it to end. This is my new favorite book series!
Fantastic narrator, surprisingly detailed mechanics to the dungeon and a great set of protagonists with Carl and Princess Donut. Definitely a new fan!
