The entire book was really good… the end credits put it over the top and made it a 5/5.

Review from The Butcher’s Masquerade →
The first book was fun. D&D meets Indiana Jones. After that, however, the main character makes so many stupid decisions it’s difficult to root for him. By the end of the second book, it wasn’t worth listening to anymore.
The book reads like thinly veiled abuse and vore fetish written by an incel. The game mechanics are literally the best part of this disaster.
I enjoy this story very much, but I absolutely hate Melina’s character. First, I hate the voice actress. She sounds like a little girl and tries to make everything cutesy. I’ve heard her and two other audiobooks and she plays those characters exactly the same and it’s very annoying. Secondly, I don’t think the author..
The performance of Jeff Hays alone makes this worth buying. He’s amazing. But the story is equally as good. Doughnut and Carl are quite possibly my two favorite book characters of all time. Their dynamic is as hilarious as it is touching. Listen to the first book before you listen to this one of course…
We absolutely love these audiobooks. Lovable characters, very funny and enjoyable while still having a dark and twisted plot. Thank you, Matt Dinnaman! Thank you Jeff Hays and Annie Ellicott!
I can not get over how talented Jeff is in this performance! He has done an amazing job bringing this fun book to life! I am new to the Sci-fi genre and this was a great start!
