SO GOOD
Review from The Correspondent →
This was a very engaging listen. I was not sure what to expect but I thoroughly enjoyed it. As a reader I found that I was excited to find out what Sybil was reading and comparing it to my own reading list. I loved laughing and crying with Sybil as she lived her life through..
This book has given me courage to “write” wrongs from my own past. Like the main character I too am older now and remembering things I could have done differently. This book is about so much more than you think it is so don’t let it go – let it unravel. You will not be..
A beautifully written novel which follows the advanced years of a woman who has experienced many tragedies in her life but manages to build a new life through her correspondence with others.
I loved her continued writing during her later years. Her honesty and thoughtful approach, her ability to tell the stories by pen.
I want to write more letters, I’m the worst! I’m going to try to make it a resolution! Whether New Year’s or lent, it just should be done! Thank you!
The Correspondents is a deeply engaging, emotionally layered novel that I truly loved, even when the main character tested my patience. At times she is a ginormous pain in the arse — self-absorbed, maddening, and often hard to root for — but somehow, that’s also part of what makes the book so compelling. The messiness..
I enjoyed this book very much. The author was amazing in how she developed each character and brought emotion into the story .
Beautifully told life story through correspondence, which was much easier to follow in audio than I thought it would be; a credit much to the readers. We all have secrets (“stones”) that follow us through life, with our own ways of coping, which I felt made this book so very relatable.
