Sybil…. It was hard for me to get into this book, but I’m glad I kept going. She was so insufferable in the beginning. But I grew fond of her towards the end. Life is short, leave nothing unsaid.

This novel explores the innermost thoughts and emotions that one woman experiences. It is very relatable and beautifully written! I loved the way it used letters to tell the story. Such a unique approach that reminds me of my love for a dying art.

The Correspondent begins slowly, but if you give a bit of time you will soon find yourself immersed in the life journey of a remarkable woman through her letters to all sorts of people and their responses.Pain, grief, accomplishments, joy, disappointments, reflection and forgiveness. It is a masterful work.

This book is told entirely through letters, emails, notes, and other bits of correspondence, and I loved that structure. It gives you these tiny, voyeuristic peeks into people’s lives that slowly start to feel very intimate and very human.
