Maybe this book is good in written form but the constantly reading the addresses in the audible form drives me nuts. After 2 hours I couldn’t take it any longer.I was not happy at all with this version.
The idea of a novel based on letters is fabulous. I really enjoyed the story as told through letter writing from various characters. The narration for each character was perfect. Highly recommend.
Voice acting? Amazing! Story? AMAZING! I wish I could experience this book all over for the first time again! 10 out of 10!
absolutely awful not interesting. painful to listen to hoping for improvement through whole book. waste of my time !!!!!!!
I loved this story and the narration! A great story about love, loss, abandonment, and overcoming your weaknesses, told through written correspondence.
The way the novel unfolds through letters was so gentle and unexpected. The different voices were perfect. I unexpected got moved suddenly with a sentence or phrase in a letter. This novel brings back the joy of receiving a personal letter in the mail and the fragility of human relationships. I didn’t want this novel..
Just finished this. Heard the author on NPR and had it on my wish list at that point. Truly outstanding! In every respect. Narrators exactly chosen, story tightly written, perfectly paced, and uniquely presented of a waking life. Courageously written. A masterpiece even. What an opus! I come from the Delmarva area and am intimately..
The main character is utterly insufferable. She shows minor growth toward the end, but remains very self-centered.Having to sit through the reading of addresses at the beginning of every single chapter is tedious. The whole book is dull and nothing exciting happens. Ever.
