Not terrible, but not great, 2.5 stars. There were so many characters introduced all at once. I had a hard time keeping track of who was who, who was related by blood and who was related “by heart-strings” (one of my favorite quotes from the book), and who was what age. A lot of petty..

One of the worst books I’ve ever attempted to read. Too many characters and all of the voices sound the same. If I could rate it with no stars I would.
Written 32 years ago yet is critically important to revisit or – as I did – visit it for the first time. Especially the final chapter.

Not her best work. Not sure why so many thought it was. The best book she ever did, in my opinion, is The Ladies Room. I’ve read that multiple times, which is rare for me since I read about 30 books a year.
This is an amazing book about a lot of fascinating topics. Highly recommended. Must read.

The first chapters are very difficult to follow and continued to be all over the place for the whole book. The ending was terrible.
