This compelling book proves the life of an older woman can make for a fascinating and satisying read.
The main character is not terribly likable. Since the whole book is her letters, her stilted language became a bit wearing. I found it unbelievable that people in business positions to whom she was a perfect stranger would respond to her long letters filled with personal information. I stuck with the story, but never really..
The story seamlessly connects the characters, events) large and small) over a lifetime. All developed in letters. I loved the characters. I’m not sure if my age (75) biased my opinion. I could relate. Definitely my favorite read this year.
This novel deserves all the accolades it’s getting. It is a completely immersive, excellent novel. Highly recommended.
This was a lovely story of life lived with joy, sorrow and feeling. It unfolded in a beautiful way like a wedding cake. I loved Sybil so much and just wanted to hug her.
Listen to this book. Amazing. Don’t know what else to say. So so good It is so easy to get so connected to every storyline. Beautifully written and read.
This book was such a joy to read! I truly felt the beauty of her penmanship through her words. Loved how she brought some of my favorite authors to the story.
