Not sure why these books had such a high rating. The story wasn’t good and the narrator feels like he phoned it in.
The story dragged on and on, 4, 5, sometimes 6 chapters to say what could have been a 1/2 chapter. Couldn’t finish
The story should have been titled Ben’s 3 Thoughts For 5 Hours. Literally nothing happens except recycled thoughts in Ben’s head. There is no storyline there is no character development. I would be furious if I had wasted a credit on this. The icing on the cake is the narrator can’t get an inflection correct..
I held out hoping it would get better but book 2 is even worse, Spencer is definitely a big wimp an must have adhd ! Good thing it was a free read or I would have been mad!
all words, no point, no twists, no interest…..I would have returned for a refund if the series had not been free….. returned anyway.
The writing is immature. If you told me that a motivated junior in high school wrote this stuff, I would believe it. Transitions are terrible. Behaviors are not believable. Poor grammar. Also generally poor character development. Story and plot are both shallow. The narration sounds like there is a period after every second or third..
book reset to beginning every time you paused it. Impossible to listen to. I should be refunded the credit used to purchase it
This book is both too long on the story line that has me wondering “what is the plot’ (which is basically the whole book) and not enough of world building and even have me attach to any of the characters. It shouldn’t have to take me til 3 chapters near the END of the book..
hones the best part a that it ended. the author seems oblivious to what would actually happen only a few days into a blackout. the author makes everyone seem like they are whining at the end of every sentence. hard to listen to. the main family just hangs out at their ranch. nobody from town..
