I do enjoy this author’s writing. I guess I can’t say too much without it being a spoiler but did *not* like the ending.
I cannot stand how the narrator voices Bard, makes him so intolerable. Cringed every time. SPOILERS Also, had a big problem with death and taxes party pretty randomly being horrible bad guys with no issue ending their own game most of the book. There could’ve been a justification for this and dialogue about how they..
I know it’s supposed to be entertaining and not realistic but the hearing part was just stupid. The other parts of the book were very good. I’m not sure what purpose the hearing and FTC play in the larger plot but there could have been a much more normal way to cover this plot element.
Working in EHS I am always looking for other perspectives on how to deal with situations or to improve existing practices. This book has all those qualities with real world examples and practical ideas on how to deal with the individuals that we are trying to protect from harm. While the type of work described..
I was wrong. People kept telling me Finn plays it so different from Jason. Finn is all about playing it smart and playing a smart game. I haven’t seen any evidence of this. 3 hours of the book left and I am bored out of my mind. Finn is so obviously dumb that it’s hard..
Kind of boring and not nearly as interesting as the others In this series. Not great character development and very obvious and mundane stereotypes
AO was my first foray into LitRPG, and I found Jason’s story very engaging. As the series has diverged from Jason as the main protagonist, I’ve found myself less engaged. The narrator does not fit for the bulk of the characters (most of which are in their 20s or younger) and his work on female..
Story of man’s search for patterns of meaning and understanding. What story tells us how many lives of geniuses of the 20th century ended in madness and suicide? Is it about the age of 2 world wars and their atrocities or a burden of genius? Mathematical infinity smells of nihilism, an infinitely replicable illusion, of..
One of the best plot twists to be seen in the genre, with high expectatations, edge of the seat combat, desparation, and failure on all sides but one. only one questions remains, what happens next?
