Not informative, had to skip a whole lot of chapters because of lack of content hoping to read something unique, wouldn’t recommend to anyone unfortunately
I love the story and can read it non stop… but the voice for this? can’t stand it…
Just when I thought this series was getting a little stale he drops Hellion! This book was fantastic and added a whole new element to the series. Loved it!
the narrator has drunk old man voice. basically the opposite of what you would want for a book like this. love the story but I’m tempted not to continue

So I figured I should listen to the Tarot series while waiting for this one to come out. I was still on the first book when it did but I trudged on, despite it being much longer than it needed to be. I was still super excited for this book and my god, was it..
John Varley is one of the best storytellers out there; and here his talents are on full display. The plot is a wandering jumble, full of dead ends, weird twists, and inconsistent pacing. BUT, that’s all because the main character/narrator is that kind of person, and there’s a ton of personality infused into the narrative…
