Performer is pretty good. Story is decent and interesting but the main character is whiney and pretty obnoxious. Not the most obnoxious as I find that’s a bit of a theme in the LitRPG I’ve listened to. Still, it’s a fun enough simple listen.

Good at giving a feeling for the early 30s in politics. Insight into Hoover’s outlook, FDRs associations w the very wealthy, and the deep business and social entanglements between upper class Americans and Germany. Not bad summary of the progression of Weimar to the Social Nationalist or Nazi transition—good detail. I am certain the “right”..
If you read this, note that you need a tough gut. There’s a lot of dark things that happen here and its definitely a horror book. I like Bentley Little’s writing style and he always spins a good tale with a satisfying conclusion.
The author took the time and space to develop characters with depth and believability. The plot is tense and lush.
Over the years, I’ve had many of the authors books. I’m aware of his reputation for dealing in controversial material, but everything he writes about is well documented and presented. He’s willing to push the hard questions to the front of the conversation and ask things that would make the mainstream community squirm. He challenges..

well researched but author’s customary tendency to berate or minimize those who disagreed with the subject of the book so when reading books by Unger,enjoy learning many fascinating details and look over this one fault.
