I enjoy this series, despite its flaws. The world building and characters are pretty good. The stories are fun. I roll my eyes in exasperation ever time he uses the word “instinctively”. If I made a drinking game out of it, I’d probably have liver failure by now.

Composition construction was no better then high school level. Extremely predictable. Plot is so weak it constantly relies upon deus ex machina to resolve its progress. Seriously lazy thought and writing. Narrator is very nearly monotonic, with overtones of melodrama. Not a good experience. Sadly.
