I choose this book, really never knowing anything about it, or the author. A beautifully crafted novel, that was engaging, thoughtful, and full of faith.I highly recommend it! The characters were well defined, strong individuals, risking much, but staying true to themselves; while sharing a story across several generations.I think I could listen again to..
The autho did a beautiful job telling the story of relationships, family, God’s grace and his forgiveness. A must read for any person searching for the power of God’s grace.
I first read this book at the height of the cold war, and had been intending to re-read it for some time. it held up well, even though the plot is seriously dated. it is one of the earliest “anti-war” books i ever encountered. it is set in the era of Woodrow Wilson’s presidency, and..
This is a mixture of personal stories that each has faced when being the one left behind from those who have passed. Some of these essays are very heart wrenching. It gives a broad look into how everyone sees the end of life differently and how some feelings that we have we are not alone..
An essential listen for those who suffer from OCD; this book explains the inner-workings of the disorder regarding the science, physiology and functions of the OCD brain, then covers practical tools and strategies to help lessen its grip on your life.
I thought I already wrote the review but I didn’t get to post it….ugh! In short, if you’re looking for fiction that’s not oozing with awkward romance scenes, this is your book. I went from Colleen Hoover to Emily Henry to Jessa Maxwell…. Can’t wait for her next book, I am hooked. Great character development..
I had no idea about any of this, so I was completely fascinating. However, the narrator’s voice was harsh and unpleasant.
I haven’t listened to a book Lynn Austin has written that I haven’t loved! This one definitely made me cry! The sacrifice and redemption is so beautiful.
This book promotes archaic religious doctrine about men controlling their wives, God controlling women, and the idea that sin against religious conventions leading to punishment on the subsequent generations. Disappointing.
