While I enjoyed Matt’s previous novels, this one didn’t hit. I was bored from the start, made it halfway through, and could not finish.
I can’t wait for the next book it’s was a little short but the world building was great voice acting was good I love the robot
My teenager and I are listening to this series together and I can’t say enough about how we both enjoy it.🥰
I like that this book is structured like a Lit RPG… But, thanks to the author’s brilliant Hitchhiker’s-esque world, it’s still based in the real world with real consequences and feelings. It’s gritty, funny, and manages to even be compelling and thought-provoking at times. Sort of a “big boy’s” video game book.
another fun entry. the acting and production make it worthwhile. some pretty farfetched and character armor plots that felt a bit eye rolling. but still fun
I was skeptical based on the title but ended up enjoying this book quite a bit..2 things that bothered me. First is the regular use of “for a quarter of an hour” like 15 minutes is supposed to be a long time. Like that the grief was narratively trunkated but I am concerned about what..
Honestly, the worst part is that what earth did sounds plausible. This is a great standalone story with a world and characters that feel lived in. Once it kicks off, it doesn’t stop. Go for it.
