I’m normally a romance reader and not interested in D&D, but my husband told me about this book and I read the entire thing within 2 days. I love Carl and Donut and can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
This book and this series is about the best I’ve ever read. It’s a funny action packed rollercoaster. After finishing all the books in this series I’ve had a difficult time listening to any thing new or other favourites already in my collection. Goddammit Dinniman!
I’ve listened to over 400 audiobooks with audible, Libby, and Libro in the last 4 years and I think this became my new favorite. It is silly and Escapist and it is perfect for these trying times. the storytelling and narration absolutely slay. I can’t tell you how much fun I’ll listen this is but..

I thought it was messed up and hilarious all around. The part where they have to get that one dudes hand gets me every time. I can’t help but laugh while my face contorts into shock and maniacal grinning.
I don’t like to leave unhelpful comments, like “this sucks”, but every time certain “excerpts” section starts, it pulls me completely out of the story. There’s an affectation to the voice, that is… well… it sounds more like someone making fun of a haughty accent rather than it actually being the way they speak. It’s..
I’m not going to lie, I thought as the series went on the author was going to start running out of ideas and it wouldn’t be as good anymore. THAT WAS NOT WHAT HAPPENED. Oh … my … God … this book might have been the greatest thing I’ve listened to ever. 11/10 must read

It was a great time obviously you don’t get 7 books of a series if you don’t enjoy it. I was able to laugh and gasp and just enjoy fantastic storytelling. The performances were great.
This runs the line between humor and absurdity with every chapter. Excellent characters and challenges, around a unique twist on dungeon crawling tropes.
