I started this, but stopped a short way into the story as it was a little slow. After I saw it recommended in 2 other places, I went back to the story. It’s brilliantly done. The narration is incredible. It’s such a beautiful rendering of all the facets of a human.

I only began this book because my daughter recommended it. Through the early pages, I kept wondering why she liked hearing someone’s correspondence! I loved the way Sibyl’s character emerged through the letters, moving toward her key realization about the past. The variety of voices for the letter writers was absolutely perfect!

This was the very first audio book that I truly enjoyed, being someone who prefers seeing words on the page, which is kind of ironic given Sybil’s waning eyesight and disgust for audiobooks. Great narrators really brought this book of letters to life!
Absolutely loved the novel! I deeply appreciate the articulation of complex feelings and emotions and grateful to have a path, a life, so beautifully described. I didn’t love the conceit of different voices reading for different writers of the letters. It did not make sense and also some of the voices were a bit annoying..
