Story was amazing and was made even better by the variety of voices used to read the text. Could not stop listening!
Not your typical epistolary novel! It is Well worth your time to get to know Sybil Van Antwerp. Have tissues handy!
Loved the story developed around the correspondence written over a lifetime of relationships. I was drawn to the main character’s gradual loss of sight as that was the path my mother experienced in her later years. Both women did not let their diminishing eyesight limit their love of life and maintaining meaningful relationships.
I didn’t look up much about this book other than it was recommended. I didn’t realize it is letters and emails, which the story is told through the correspondence. Highly recommended!
What a beautiful way to share the story of a seemingly simple, yet compelling complex life. I loved the exploration of love, regret, remorse, grief, friendship, forgiveness, contrition, joy, and hope told exclusively through various forms of correspondence. Very well done!
This is one of the most beautiful novels that I’ve had the pleasure of reading in quite sometime. The use of letters to tell the story was creative, intimate, and offered a unique perspective that makes you feel like you are taking in a beautiful secret world. An absolutely stunning piece of contemporary literature.
The connections through letter that weave a tale of a life lived as best as one could. Sybil’s life, heart, her fears and her love are shown through her written word. What a unique story.
Absolutely delightful! Gripped me to the end, loved the epistolary format and the life the author built for Sybil in a short span. Added to my list of All time favorites!
