I just loved listening to this beautiful book. So tender and poignant and the actors read their roles so well
I’ve never been so enraptured by an audio book in my life. I am usually a book in my hand girl but I can’t imagine experiencing The Correspondent any other way but as an audio. I enjoyed every single second!
Multiple narrators tell story through years of handwritten letters and emails. Beautifully performed. Thoughtful, raw and touching look at the correspondence of a later-in-life retired judge, her family, friends and other correspondents
I wasn’t sure when it started but it quickly grabbed me. The story telling through letters was unique but so beautiful. I loved every bit of this book
From start to finish, this book was personal, relatable, intimate, and just somehow so close to the heart all the way through. I just felt like civil was either myself or my sister or my close friend or my neighbor. It was really a worthwhile read.
The narration of this absolutely beautiful story which unfolds miraculously through the letters was like music. I loved listening to all the different voices of the characters. I did not want the story to end. The writing was so good. I felt like I was a part of this story. Even after I finished, I..
This story MUST be enjoyed via audiobook. The performance enhances the moving, interesting, inspiring story. In my top audiobooks of all-time. Enjoy!
This is a rather simple epistolary novel (told only through letters written by the protagonist). The characterization is weak, the story is pedestrian and predictable, there is no action. Heartfelt? Sweet? Original? Beautiful? For me it was rather solidly OK but a bit meh. The narration was quite good.
I disliked the character. She was too full of herself, tedious and a name dropper. I would never want to spend time with such a person and did not look forward to hearing her story.
The story is lovely and the narration only added to its meaning and understanding. I am inspired to become a correspondent myself.
